FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
SONAL KOTECHA
Sonal Kotecha's journey in the world of interior design is a testament to her passion for creativity and cultural connection. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture & Design from Nottingham Trent University, UK in 2007, Sonal embarked on a transformative adventure that led her to Dubai.
Her career trajectory saw her accumulate invaluable experience as an in-house designer for a property developer and a multi-disciplinary interior design studio. However, Sonal's entrepreneurial spirit beckoned, and in 2017, she took the bold step of founding Rumah Interiors.
Sonal's upbringing as a second-generation Indian in the United Kingdom, with parents hailing from Kenya, instilled in her a rich tapestry of cultural influences. This diverse background fuels her ability to connect deeply with clients from all corners of the globe. Settling in Dubai in 2010, Sonal found her home base and a canvas for her creative vision.
For Sonal, interior design is more than just aesthetics; it's about storytelling and forging genuine connections. She thrives on understanding her clients' aspirations and crafting design concepts that reflect their unique narratives. Inspired by her extensive travels, Sonal's personal design aesthetic is imbued with the essence of destinations like Bali, a place close to her heart and the namesake of Rumah Interiors.
With each project, Sonal infuses a touch of magic and creative inspiration, channeling the cultural vibrancy she has encountered across the globe. Through her work, she strives to spread joy and evoke a sense of wonder, leaving behind spaces that resonate deeply with those who inhabit them.
